The exhibition at the Marienfelde Refugee Center Museum was devoted to the different activities of escape aid from 1961 to 1989 as freedom and resistance form. It addressed the different phases and each specific forms of escape aid and sets it in the political context. For the first time original objects, photographs and documents from escape helpers could be seen. Selected biographies and fates showed under what difficult conditions escape aid was possible.

Information for private and organized escape aid after the building of the Wall were also to be found as exhibits, film and sound documents for the commercialization of escape aid from the mid-1960s, as well as to the changes by the Transit Agreement. In addition, the private escape aid actions that took place throughout the period, as well as forms of escape aid in 1989 were given own chapters.
