Flight in divided Germany

Overview tour through the permanent exhibition

Why did individuals decide to leave the GDR? How did they cross the border and how did the "Golden West" welcome them? The overview tour of the exhibition "Flight in Divided Germany" spans the period from the decision to leave the GDR to social integration in the Federal Republic. In the process, important political developments are put into relation to the personal experiences of the refugees and those who left the country.
